STYLE: Sip N' Style - Front Row Monthly Celebrates 1 Year of Style

Pittsburgh's fashion scene has come a long way in the past couple of years, and it wouldn't have come so far without some of the city's style-focused publications.  This past Saturday, the Pittsburgh family of fashion celebrated the one year anniversary of Front Row Monthly magazine! The party was set at the new Bakery Square and began with the Sip N'Style cocktail hour and a trunk show featuring some of the most current and stylish brands such as: StreetHeart, FarESH Brands, Trendy Trousseau, PhiriVon, Crazy Hot Clothes, Young Guns, Fluhme cosmetics, M.A.W, and Bella Vetro.  The party buzzed with excitement as the sounds of Long Time Darlings and Neighbours played in the background! The indoor venue at Bakery Square was transformed into a classy, dimly lit spot where the runway was set up, cocktails were served, and the people mingled!

STYLE: Summer 2012 Gallery Crawl: Street Style

Usually at Gallery Crawls, I am so consumed with being able to get to every single gallery and see all the attractions, that I completely overlook how people dress for this occasion! I wanted to do a big piece on the other artistic aspect of Pittsburgh - its people! This year, it was all about colors, prints, and simple details.

MUSIC: Brillobox presents New Shouts Retro Dance Party feat. DJ Gordy

Cor Allen of the New Shouts
The Brillobox is a great place to go for concerts, awesome (and very dance-able) music, affordable drinks and of course a plethora of very unique and very stylish looks.  A beginning to a very fun Fall season- so far- was the New Shouts Retro Dance Party at the Brillobox this past Friday (Oct. 14). DJ Gordy spinned an awesome mix of disco songs straight from the disco era with an edgy twist and a trippy backdrop screen playing a kaleidoscope of colors, Warhol screen tests and 70's dance videos.  A very groovy night!

The First Post

Hello!  Welcome to The Pittsburgh Look!  You're probably thinking...what is she talking about, Pittsburgh doesn't have a look.  Well dear reader, we in fact do.  This blog is meant to uncover the style underneath all the black and gold.  I will be taking street style shots, interviewing local boutiques, restaurants, independent artists and designers, and attending local events, giving coverage on the Pittsburgh I know and love - and it doesn't involve football!!  I hope you like my blog and that it gives you the feeling that you do live in a great city with stylish people and fun things to do.  And for those not in Pittsburgh, I hope this gives you a great perspective of our city, and shows you that we are so much more than our winning sport teams.  Browse, write to me, click away, enjoy, repeat....
